This is an interesting discussion, again, in this economic education community I join in, but we’re not talking about economics and finance all the time, but also philosophy, religion and all that stuff which fascinates me because I never got these kind of experience in my 15 years of formal education.
Today, we discussed a little bit about ‘Fear’ and the condition where human only remembers God when they’re in trouble.
Ngomong soal takut, itu problem yg manusiawi. Bahkan banyak yg meng-agung2kan Tuhan krn rasa takut. Takut rejekinya macet, takut suaminya kawin lagi, takut pacarnya direbut bencong, dll. Jadi bukan krn Tuhan itu “Maha Pengasih”. Malah jadi “Sang Pemurka” di mata manusia yg takut dihukumNya, walaupun ekspresinya adlh “Terima Kasih ya Tuhan atas segala yg Engkau berikan”. Dibalik ekspresi ini ialah rasa takut akan “rejeki yg hilang”. Cuma sang subject tdk memahaminya. Dia berpikir dgn berterima kasih dia merasa aman. Jadi intinya, banyak manusia beragama yg melecehkan Tuhan krn rasa takutnya. Makanya: Be brave and intelligent!
————————————————————————————————
Makanya kacauw. Sebab tiap hari Tuhan dilecehkan en justru oleh orang2 beragama. Gak ada bedanya antara substansi Zeus en Allah: disembah2 krn takut. Semakin miskin suatu negara, Tuhan semakin laris, gereja en masjid makin banyak. Suatu pelecehan. Tuhan bukan lagi suatu Logika. Tapi sbh Mistik. Apalagi kalo kita lagi susah atau sakit parah. Tiap detik inget Tuhan. Semakin dicekam rasa takut, semakin inget kita sama Tuhan. This is my anthroposophical discourse: “Tuhan lahir dari rasa takut manusia.” Makanya jadi org jangan penakut. Be brave and intelligent!
————————————————————————————————
Banyak manusia hidup tdk authentic. Agama cuma asesories. Bukan renungan spiritual yg dalam. Cuma warisan keluarga. Akhirnya Tuhan direduksi jadi Dukun, “tempat meminta”, jadi “Nyonya Besar”. Lama2 jadi “Nyonya Menir”. Kacau! Tuhan dianggap “Bandar” rejeki. Wuakakakkk….
————————————————————————————————
Tuhan menjadi bersifat “Instrumental” utk melayani kebutuhan2 materi kita dan utk menghilanglan rasa takut kita. Jarang yg melihat Tuhan sbg “Penunjuk Jalan”. Stupid! This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.
————————————————————————————————
Sesungguhnya Al Kitab atau Al Qur’an adlh “Penunjuk Jalan”, my friend. Cuman 99,99999% yg membacanya adalah org2 tolol dgn kualitas otak yg sangat rendah. Mereka memahami agama tidak seperti yg agama inginkan. Agama akhirnya menjadi tradisi yg konyol. Menjadi suatu abstraksi yg absurd. Menjadi status sosial. Menjadi berhala. Menjadi chukimai. Bukan jalan praktis utk melihat para malaikat bernyanyi dan Tuhan berdansa.
The statement above in my opinion is not to discourage religion. In my opinion, it is an encouragement to approach religion with the right attitude. Religion matters if it impacts our everyday life, makes us a better person and thus makes a better society. Otherwise, it becomes meaningless.
Religion should be our guide to be the light in dark world. To be the Lord’s hand and the Lord’s feet for our brothers and sisters whose in needs. To act in pursue of a better world.
Also, after I read through these discussion, I remember this guy named Job (or in Bahasa version, his name is Ayub: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_(biblical_figure)), whom is a very rich guy in his era. These are his description taken from the verse 1 in the book of Job.
There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless—a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil. 2 He had seven sons and three daughters. 3 He owned 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, and 500 female donkeys. He also had many servants. He was, in fact, the richest person in that entire area.
This is a great description a person can have, a guy who is very rich, a man of integrity, blameless, lives right in the eye of God, almost perfect-guy maybe. But what makes him interesting is not about his wealth, but his character, integrity and perseverance. Long story short, the guy loses everything, his wealth and health all taken away from him. And in this condition, he said this famous words:
“I came naked from my mother’s womb,
and I will be naked when I leave.
The LORD gave me what I had,
and the LORD has taken it away.
Praise the name of the LORD!”
What a great respond from a guy who just lost everything. I think this is a great example of the right attitude, that he still thankful and still praise the name of the Lord despite his unfortunate condition. This is a great lesson for me and successfully change my perspective towards this issue.
The true love itu sebetulnya gak mengenal patah hati. Bukan kepentingan kita sendiri. Bukan air mata kita. Bukan tawa kita. Dan bukan diri kita. Kita hrs berani mengatakan: “Yang terluka padamu, berdarah padaku”. The paradox of love: if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love. Dan pd level yg tertinggi, cinta itu menjadi self-denial, dlm bhs perancisnya “Neantisation”, proses peniadaan dan pembukaan diri, suatu totalitas dimana subject dan object lebur menjadi satu. Kalau org yg kita cintai masih merupakan “object” utk kepentingan subject, maka itu disebut “eros”. Bukan cinta. -Ferry Latuhihin-
“What I see from Jeremy and what I hear in his interviews is he appreciates everything. He pursues his dream. His attitude is so peaceful, but there is strength to him. It is not a violent strength like fire or something aggressive. It is like the ocean, very peaceful, very quiet when you look at it. But you can never underestimate the power that is in there.”

Wah, ga nyangka banget. Sebulan yang lalu rasanya waktu H-1 sidang skripsi, animo masyarakat tentang isu FPI ga setinggi sekarang. Sekarang kayanya hampir semua tweet didedikasikan buat merayakan kebencian kita terhadap kekerasan FPI hahaha. Surprise, surprise.
